Embroidery

The following embroidery pieces are created from 2022 to present and are various sizes from 4 inches to 7 inches. The use of white font on white fabric surrounded by florals mimics the way queer histories are viewed by the general public. Queer and trans people throughout history have had to bloom in the shadows, and their lives and names have been systematically erased from the history books. The use of embroidery also pays homage to women and femme crafting and artforms, which also suffers from erasure. Often times names and intentions are lost to history when it comes to feminine craft, leaving us with a piece of art with no history or name attached.
